Robert McAlmon
Robert McAlmon, 'publisher of the city of Paris!' (Callaghan 1963). Through McAmon, Morley gets his first story, 'A Girl with Ambition' published in This Quarter magazine - he is also Ernest Hemingway's first publisher.
'Bob' is portrayed as a man with great self-importance, once claiming that Zelda Fitzgerald made a pass at him. According to Callaghan, he is 'respected by some of the best people on earth' (Callaghan 1963), a glowing review that is proven truthful when he invites Morley to dine with he and the Joyces.
